Self-defense using a knife by George Mimmis

If you ever need to defend your life using a knife you have to surprise your opponent. Pull your knife unexpectedly and be quick and ruthless. Prefer to stab rather than cut. Go for the thoracic area, the neck, the femoral artery, the anus, the brachial artery or the groin. You must have a knife that is easy to deploy and you must carry it in a way that is easy to pull it when the need arise.

Chose a knife with a strait blade and keep the edge razor sharp. Avoid knives with curved blades (you can't stab).
