Self-defense using a knife by George Mimmis

If you ever need to defend your life using a knife you have to surprise your opponent. Pull your knife unexpectedly and be quick and ruthless. Prefer to stab rather than cut. Go for the thoracic area, the neck, the femoral artery, the anus, the brachial artery or the groin. You must have a knife that is easy to deploy and you must carry it in a way that is easy to pull it when the need arise.

Chose a knife with a strait blade and keep the edge razor sharp. Avoid knives with curved blades (you can't stab).

Test your night vision by George Mimmis

Nighttime activities involve much lower-contrast surroundings than they would during the day.  The Pelli Robson contrast sensitivity chart tests your ability to detect letters that are gradually less contrasted with the white background

Fighting in the dark by George Mimmis

Most crimes happen at night and in low light conditions. So most of your training should be in a low light environment.

You don't need only muscle memory
(to perform a task automatically through repetition) for your body but also for your
eyes to rely on peripheral more than central vision.
With the Raptor Krav Maga self-defense system you learn to fight in the dark.
Darkness will be your friend and not your enemy.
It will offer you cover and unpleasant surprises to the attacker.

How to stay safe in public places - by George Mimmis

What should you do if you suspect that you're being followed?

Don't go home. Instead, go to a public area e.g. a restaurant and call the police. Then alert the manager. This way, if the stalker comes in, there's someone who knows what is going on.

Some good news , a pedophile paid the price!

A father caught a church minister inappropriately touching his 9-year-old son at a school bus top Wednesday, after which the father gave the minister a serious beating, Oklahoma City police told KWTV-DT.

Michael Coghill, 33, was arrested Wednesday on a child sex crime complaint, the station said, adding that Lakehoma Church of Christ in Mustang had listed him on its website as a minister. But as of Friday afternoon the site doesn't list Coghill as a staff member.

Don't be a victim - By George Mimmis

To assume women are  easy prey would consequently assert that men are stronger and always the attackers. In the long run it isn’t small versus big, but planning versus surprise. Women are victims since they’re taken by surprise from the attacker and in a vital moment, they don’t know what to do.

What do Self-Defense Tactics do for You? If someone grabbed you from behind, do you know what to do? If you were trapped against a wall, how do you escape? If you don't know the answers to those questions, you’re in danger of becoming a statistic of a violent physical and/or sexual assault. Although you can not change the old stereotype, you may change your mentality. A rapist will still stalk you but you don't need to be his next victim.

Fear can be your worst threat in the minutes before an assault. Those few seconds of confusion and consciousness since you suddenly understand what’s happening to you can cause you to become petrified. You might feel that the worst is unavoidable. This is a natural reaction. The objective isn’t to rid yourself of this fear but to get beyond it. That feeling will come in and go out as fast because you know you’ve been trained to overcome a situation.
